Indiana Common Core foes have Hope

Don’t miss Russ Pulliam’s excellent article in today’s Indianapolis Star, entitled “Common Core foes have hope.”  Pulliam aptly describes the left-right alliance that is forming in opposition to the Common Core in Indiana.  He has this to write, regarding Chairman Dennis Kruse of the Senate Education Committee:

Education Committee Chairman Dennis Kruse thinks lawmakers need to discern what voters were saying in Bennett’s defeat, even as they also gave Republicans an overwhelming majority in both houses of the General Assembly.”Glenda Ritz got the most votes of any candidate statewide (other than Attorney General Greg Zoeller),” he said. “We ought to pay attention to the voters.”

Pulliam also quotes our good friend and ally, Emmett McGroarty of the American Principles Project. as saying the following:

“The opposition to Common Core cuts across the left-right spectrum…It gets back to who should control our children’s education – people in Indiana or people in Washington?”

Pulliam’s article, which is spot on, is a must read! It provides one more piece of evidence that you DON’T want to miss the rally being held in support of Senator Schneider’s bill (SB193), at 12:00PM, in the atrium of the State House on Wednesday, January 16th.  Eight experts from around the country will be on hand to answer all of your questions.  Likewise,  you will want to stay to attend the 1:30PM hearing on SB193, before the Senate Education and Careers Committee, which is being held in the Senate Chamber.
