Don’t miss Common Core debate

One of the best ways to learn about an issue is to watch a debate.  Therefore, we highly recommend that you watch this lively Common Core debate, which took place  June 10th in Thousands Oaks, California.  Those arguing against Common Core were Bill Evers, of the Hoover Institute; Sandra Stotsky, a former Massachusetts state official; and Tony Dolz, a local parent.  Those arguing for the Common Core were Jeffrey Baarstad, a local superintendent; Jon Sand, a local curriculum director; Peggy Walker, a local high school teacher; and Mike Soules, with Corwin Publishing.

Although Common Core opponents were outnumbered, their FACTS won the day and proved that the Common Core emperor wears NO clothes!  It is worth taking the time to watch this debate in its entirety, as the back and forth Q and A toward the end is most telling.  At points, it’s as if some of the proponents are begining to fold their tents.  Click here to watch it.

I cannot get the link to the debate to work. I get a message saying that the site is not recognized. Is there a direct link I could have?
